Your First Sessions at NEO: Where to Start

NEO Performance Lab ยท Published 2026-10-07

Bring the workout you have been doing. Even if it is a note on your phone, a few saved videos, or something you have repeated for months.

It gives us a starting point. We can talk about the exercises you know, where you get confused, and what you want your training to help you do.

You can tell us you want to build muscle. You can also tell us you keep getting to the gym and spending the first ten minutes deciding what to do. Both belong in the conversation.

Before you come in

Start with the application. NEO keeps its coaching space limited, so we need to work out whether your goals, budget, and available times fit the current openings.

Be honest about the calendar. If Tuesday evenings sound good until you remember school pickup or a standing work meeting, leave them off your list and give us times you could attend now.

During the strategy call, explain what you have tried and what you want help with. Liked your old program? Explain which parts you want to keep, along with anything that left you unsure what you were working toward when you trained.

How the assessment is charged

For Guided, the one-time $200 assessment happens before training starts, followed by sessions at $75 each in the shared coaching space.

Concierge uses the first session for your assessment. No separate fee. The rate is $165 per session with macro targets, or $185 if you also want meal planning included with your one-on-one coaching.

Ask about clothing and equipment when the appointment is arranged, so you have the studio's instructions before you arrive rather than guessing from a gym checklist.

Speak up when something is unclear

If you don't understand an exercise, ask. Tell the coach where you need another explanation or a closer look, and ask what you should keep track of between sessions.

Before leaving, confirm your next appointment. Ask how the sessions will work in the format you chose, including what you will follow independently if you are joining the Guided room.

Tell us about injuries or health conditions before starting, and get cleared by your doctor if either applies. NEO provides personal training. Physical therapy and rehabilitation are outside the service.

Read the About NEO page for the studio and Dr. Kelvin's background, then tell us about the training you are doing today when you apply.
